Akasa becomes a Raspberry Pi Approved Design Partner

Akasa is delighted to announce its recent achievement of becoming a Raspberry Pi Approved Design Partner. Launched in December 2020, this program is dedicated to fostering connections between companies seeking to integrate Raspberry Pi into their applications and a select list of partners, rigorously reviewed and approved to ensure both technical expertise and commercial proficiency. Akasa is thrilled to uphold its commitment to design, innovate, and contribute to the vibrant Raspberry Pi ecosystem.

At Akasa, we have been collaborating with Raspberry Pi since 2016. We firmly believe in the exceptional suitability of Raspberry Pi products for a wide range of applications, catering to everyday enthusiasts from retro gaming aficionados to robotics enthusiasts and home theater PC (HTPC) enthusiasts. Moreover, they are an excellent choice for commercial and industrial clients due to their availability, affordability, reliability, and ease of use. Whether you are envisioning a gaming device, an Internet of Things (IoT) system, an automation solution, or a robotics project, Raspberry Pi offers the flexibility and functionality necessary to bring your ideas to realization.

Akasa has developed and manufactured a comprehensive range of premium aluminium cases and accessories for the Raspberry Pi ecosystem, including:

GEM Pro — A ‘gem’ of a fanless case designed for the Raspberry Pi 4. Inspired by one of our talented industrial designers who found inspiration while meticulously arranging gemstones at home, the design of footprints of gemstones boasts a distinctive pattern that sets it apart. To maximise, thermal capacity for Akasa’s jewel of a case, we manufactured the case by forge manufacturing technique which provides a much better thermal capacity than our standard aluminium extrusion.

Pi-5 Pro — A 5-star fanless case tailored for Raspberry Pi 5. Built upon our acclaimed standard case design, the Pi-5 Pro features symmetrical fins meticulously engineered to maximise surface area, ensuring efficient heat dissipation from the Pi board. Unwavering reliability, durability, and affordability. It serves as the ideal solution for a myriad of applications, including IoT, Digital Signage, and POS systems, empowering businesses with seamless functionality and robust performance.

Maze Pro — A premium fanless case engineered for Raspberry Pi 4. Inspired by one of our design engineers who drew inspiration from a fun weekend completing the hedge maze at Hampton Court in the UK. Drawing from this immersive experience, our engineer sought to pay homage to the intricate pathways and twists encountered, translating them into a captivating design for our fanless case.

With over 25 years of experience in thermal management across IPC, consumer, and embedded systems, Akasa serves as a leading platform provider for industrial, thermal, mechanical, and electronic design in small-form-factor (SFF) technical markets. Our adept design engineers and technical teams specialise in Telecommunication, IoT, Medical, Smart Automation, and Robotics, boasting a proven track record of delivering high-quality design chassis projects for our clients. Akasa hope to continue to provide our technical and manufacturing expertise with the Raspberry Pi ecosystem with new exciting products and partnerships.

If you are keen on discovering more about how Akasa can assist you with your next project, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email at sales@akasa.co.uk. We are eager to collaborate with you and help transform your ideas into reality with Raspberry Pi.

New NH-P1 review

"To put this CPU cooler to the test, I installed it on top of an Intel Core i5-13600K where it performed well enough that you could run the system without a single case fan installed, so long as you don't keep hitting the CPU hard with stress tests or heavier workloads. I then decided to try the 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 7900, which has a TDP of 65W, and activated precision boost overclocking (PBO) to transform the chip into an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X. The results were astounding and not what I expected from a passive CPU cooler."

Meteor Lake ASRock iBOX

The ASRock iBOX-155U and iBOX-125U are fanless mini computers powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, known as Meteor Lake-U. They support an impressive 96GB of DDR5 memory, and three storage units (two PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD, one SATA). They have a good selection of ports, including a super-fast USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port, four USB3 ports, and two ethernet ports that can handle speeds of 2.5 Gigabit LAN. These computers can even power four displays at once using a combination of HDMI and DisplayPort connections. Since they are fanless, they will operate silently and be resistant to dust buildup. Current ASRock iBOX retails for about $1000.
