Intel's new Mini-STX format is not fanless-friendly.
No heatsink for the H110 chipset (a whopping
6W TDP, the equivalent to a Braswell chip, bare naked) and the M.2 SSD on top of it! Both rely heavily on active cooling.
It's unfortunate that, one again, size prevailed over cooling. Small computers are a gimmick. Beside few millimeters, Mini-STX brings nothing new to the table. The market is craving for something new, and we think it's solid state computing.
