Intel is bringing back desktop "Atom" chips with Apollo Lake. The Pentium J4205, Celeron J3355 and J3455 will feature a 10W TDP, a substantial increase over the 6W Braswell chips.
While performance should greatly improve, passive cooling might be problematic in mainstream mini desktops like ASRock's Beebox, ECS' LIVA or ASUS' Vivo Mini already struggling with 4W or 6W chips. Manufacturers will have to seriously rethink thermals or rely on the mobile N3350, N3450 and N4200.
