Linux Mint, the fastest-growing Linux distribution (outpacing Ubuntu in DistroWatch.com page hit rating) is launching its own hardware. The free operating system known for its stability, security, and ease of use, is teaming up with
Compulab maker of fanless mini PC for the
mintBox.
2 models featuring the newly released Linux Mint 13 "Maya" and based on AMD G-Series T40N and T56N will be available. Both offering substantially better performance than most Atom based nettops (
.pdf).
Following Clément Lefèbvre's quiet
announcement, our sources tell us that both models are coming "
within weeks".
